Why do people have abortions?

There are various reasons why a person may choose to have an abortion. Women who are having thoughts or are going ahead with an abortion exist within different cultural contexts. The one which we are currently living in, the 21st century, is one which is quite different from previous generations. The constant changing standards of living, financial difficulties, work demands, and other life difficulties are some of the reasons behind why one may choose to have an abortion. Some women have also stated that they are unprepared to be mothers, or are unsupported.

Research has also stated that some women also make the decision to undergo an abortion due to health reasons, in which they cannot take on the load of being pregnant as it would be a detriment to their health.

A medically indicated termination of pregnancy could be recommended if the health of the woman is deemed to be at risk if the pregnancy were to continue.
