How can I know if i'm ovulating or not?
There are some physical signs of ovulating. You may notice some cramping, or your vulva appearing to be swollen, or some light spotting, or even an increase in sex drive. Your basal body temperature - your body's temperature when you are fully at rest - usually falls slightly and then rises again, and your cervical mucus can appear thinner and clearer, as well as your cervix itself softening and opening up. Keeping track of your menstrual cycle for a few months is a good way to get an idea on your ovulation. This can be tracked using calendars or apps. Keeping an eye on some of the physical symptoms of ovulating, such as checking your basal temperature or checking your cervical mucus every day, can also give you an idea on when you are ovulating. The most common method of checking on your ovulation is to use an ovulation predictor kit, which measures your level of estrogen or luteinizing hormone through your saliva or urine, giving you a 12 or 24 hour notice on your ovulation. Check with your doctor about which method might be of better use for you and your partner.
