Sexually Transmitted Infections
Will having sex with a virgin cure someone with an STI, including HIV?
No. Instead, this practice only risks infecting the person who has not yet had sex. There are different treatments for STIs. If the STI is either chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis or trichomoniasis , this is treated by single-dose antibiotics. If one has herpes , HIV or hepatits B , these are usually treated by having antivirals. Antivirals cannot cure herpes and HIV, however they can regulate the disease. For hepatitis B, antiviral medications are able to fight the virus.
