Does getting an IUD hurt?
When an IUD is implanted, there is likely to be some discomfort, and it might be painful for some individuals. Some women have reported this pain to be similar to period cramps. Although having an IUD implanted can be inconvenient and painful for some individuals, you can receive a local anesthetic to assist. Always discuss with a GP or gynae beforehand.
