Contraception
What is dual protection?
Dual protection is when one takes steps in order to protect against unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Therefore, dual methods refers to the use of procedures that will prevent both of these outcomes. A barrier technique, such as the female or male condom, can be used to achieve this level of protection. With this bein said, the barrier approach must be utilized appropriately and correctly. For example, using an expired condom won't be the safest dual protection as the condom might break during intercourse.
