How should I wash my vagina? Should I use a douche?

Using a douche to clean your vagina is NOT recommended. This can disrupt the balance of pH and bacteria inside the vagina that is necessary for good vaginal health. Use unperfumed soap and water to wash the vulva, the area around the opening of the vagina. It is not necessary to wash the inside of your vagina because it is self-cleaning. If you notice a particularly bad smell, such as a fishy smell, coming from your vagina, then you may have an infection and medical attention should be sought out.
