Do persons with intellectual disability have low body image?

In some means, society, particularly with the rise of social media, presents a distorted image of how people should look. People with intellectual impairments may think they are undeserving of a good sexual relationship because they do not meet this idealized vision. Research also suggests that persons with intellectual disability may have thier body image controlled by others, such as their clothing, making them less confident if it is not to their liking. Therefore research does suggest that low body image may impact persons with intellectual disability more than those without intellectual disability.
